We are excited you have joined our charge in making computer science education more accessible for all students!
This professional development program prepares educators to implement curricula that are designed to take 1 week of 45-minute lessons each day in 3-5th grade classrooms. Educators will learn how to make connections between learning computer science (CS) and other subjects like math, language arts, science, and social studies.
Audience: Grade 3 - 5 educators with limited-to-no Code.org experience. Educators include any teacher who can implement CS curriculum (i.e. general education teachers, art teachers, media specialists, STEM coordinators)
Workshop Type: Synchronous, Virtual
Length of Workshop: 90 minutes
This is a free, foundational virtual professional learning series for any teacher and educator interested in the groundbreaking world of artificial intelligence (AI) and its transformative potential in education. Join us on a journey of exploration and empowerment, and unlock the future of teaching with and about AI.

We're excited to announce the release of our Foundations of Generative AI curriculum! This curriculum is a fully unplugged introduction to what happens behind-the-scenes when you type a message into an Large Language Model (LLM) like ChatGPT or Gemini and get a response, designed for grades 6-12. It also features a brand new set of videos exploring Generative AI. This unit is *brand new* with a smaller release for early adopters. Consider exploring this trendsetting unit as the Fall winds down and let us know your feedback!
Metro Nashville Public Schools hosts an annual “CSEdWeek Event” as a way to inspire K-12 students across the district to learn about computer science, advocate for equity, and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers, and partners in the field. This event allows educators the chance to come learn about CS and experiment with a variety of tools, programs, and resources!
Educators walk away from this experience with up to four lessons (and lesson plans!) that can be used during the CSEdWeek.
What an exciting way to spread the excitement around Computer Science Education and CSEd Week!
Keep up the great work, Metro Nashville Public Schools!
Follow Metro Nashville on social media to stay informed on the great things happening in their district!
